About Me

I have my Bachelor of Arts in developmental psychology and education from Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts and my Masters in Education from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts.  I am certified in Massachusetts to teach grades one through nine.

I have eight years of classroom experience teaching language arts and science to students in fourth through ninth grades.  I also have tutored learners from age ten to adulthood in the areas of reading comprehension, writing, organization, and study skills.   My background as a teacher and tutor is diverse; it spans the educational field from remedial support all the way up to enrichment for gifted and talented learners.

As a tutor, I work closely with your child’s school.  I continue to stay apprised of the MA state frameworks so that I am familiar with what is expected on the MCAS.  Furthermore, I work closely with the parent(s) and the student to establish realistic goals that will help the student feel more confident and knowledgeable in the classroom.

When not spending time interacting with my students, I can usually be found composing, singing, reading, snowboarding, rock climbing, or hiking in the beautiful outdoors.
